Insulation is a means of conserving energy within the interiors of a room, as well as preventing any outside energy from entering within and diluting the insides. For instance, in cold regions, in order to preserve heat, insulation is done so that that warm air does not leave the room and the cold air from outside is prevented from entering. Foam insulation is generally used for this purpose.
Today, foam insulation is generally used for construction, as walls and roofs have a layer of foam that keeps the room cool in summers and warm in winters. Apart from that, foam insulation has also been developed for doors and windows.
Broadly speaking, foam insulation is available in two forms: sheets and sprays. The former has been used for a long time, whereas the latter is a more recent development. However, irrespective of the type of foam insulation, it needs to be changed and replaced every couple of years, depending on the lifespan.
Foam spray insulation is very simple to apply. Basically, this comes in spray cans and one just needs to spray it on whichever surface that requires insulation. The semi-liquid foam, when put on the surface, dries up within minutes, completely sealing the surface. On the other hand, using foam sheets could be tedious, as they need to be cut to size and glued on the surface.
While most people feel that foam insulation is required only for those living in the colder regions, in fact it should also be an essential part of the d?cor in warmer regions. This is because the foam insulation layer helps maintain the required room temperature irrespective of the weather conditions outside.
